Chase's shadow!

Mariah's new babbles!

6 month well visit

I took Mariah to the doctor for her 6 month well visit on Monday. We actually had a lot of fun because I met my good friend Hannah there who had a 6 month check up for her daughter Juliana at the same time!! (We will have to plan the next one that way Hannah!) Well, Mariah weighed in at 14 lbs 12 oz which puts her in the 15th percentile, and is 24 3/4 in which is in the 25th percentile. She is still on the small side, but the doctor said she was proportional. She did have more shots, but I declined the flu vaccine since it is almost March and the flu season is coming to an end. My Doctor agreed, I love when that happens. Mariah does great with shots, she cries when they stick her, but when I pick her up she is fine. I only pray it will be this easy when she is 6 years old!!! The doctor was very surprised at how strong she is. She is sitting up and crawling already. Once again I am thankful and blessed that I have a healthy thriving child.

Fireproof

Jordan and I rented the movie Fireproof the other night because we had heard so many people talking about it. Now it is a little corny and has some bad acting in some parts, but all in all we loved it. The message of the movie was great. It actually came at a great time for us. Jordan and I had been arguing over getting a dog, he wants one and I don't. The movie really did put arguments, hurtful words and motives into perspective. I feel like we should buy the movie and watch it every year to remind ourselves how important it is to have our marriage under control and in Gods hands. Divorce is a rampant disease in our society, and I think if more people had God in the center of their marriage instead of themselves it would decrease the percentage. I thank God for my God centered marriage, and I am thankful for my parents for showing me what a God centered marriage looks like. We are not perfect by any means, but I know for a fact that we will be together forever. I love you husband!!

Summer in February!

Thank you God for a nice warm summer day in the middle of winter!

Sweet Potatoes

Mariah has been interested in other peoples food for a while now, so finally I gave in and bought her some baby food. I like to make my own baby food, but with two kids now I think the organic baby jar food will do just fine. I decided not to start with the rice cereal or oatmeal because Chase always hated it and I don't really see the point anyway. Veggies are much healthier and much tastier! I have been giving them to her for about two weeks now and she seems to love them. You can tell that she doesn't really know what she is supposed to do with it, but she likes the taste. After I take the spoon out of her mouth her tongue starts wiggling and she starts talking for more. I think the next veggie on the list will be squash. I did give her a piece of baby toast today, but she made quite the gaggy face. Oh well, Enjoy the pics.

Brother and Sister!

Mariah is getting older and she is starting to become a playmate for Chase. She is starting to sit up and starting to crawl and Chase loves to help her with both. They are playing together pretty well except for the occasional yelling of "No Yaya, you don't touch my choo choo." I pray that the two of them will be close as friends and siblings. I can't wait until the summer when they are both running around!!

Water Baby.

So far Mariah is loving the water, in the bathtub that is. Chase never really enjoyed it. I remember the nurse in the unit telling us that Chase was doing very well, but he hates bath time. Jordan and I gave Chase a shower until he was to big to hold. As of now, Chase still is not a fan of the beach but he does enjoy the kiddy pool! Mariah seems to be a little fish and would swim under the water if we let her go. We have to be careful in the tub because she is a wiggler. Hopefully she will love the water like her daddy. As we all know, I am not a fan of the beach (water or sand).

The Alphabet.

Recently I have started teaching Chase his letters and he is catching on very quickly. It has been about a month now, and he knows all of the letters. He names the right one about 90% of the time. Oh to be that age again and soak up everything you hear. I hope you enjoy his little voice as much as I do, especially the "W".

Chase's Colors

"Yed, Onge, Yedow, Geen, Bu, Puple, Yite, Back." A rainbow of colors that makes mommy smile everytime. I do eventually want Chase to speak clearly, but hearing his little voice learn new things and utter them is priceless!!!!

Answer to prayers.

The other day Jordan came home with the most wonderful news, the dept is switching him to days. Thank you Jesus!!!! We, mostly I, have been praying for this for a long time. I very much dislike shift work, but it pays the bills. Jordan loves his job and I would never take that away from him, but I tend to complain about it all the time. I hate being by myself, and it is very hard to take care of two kids all day and night by yourself. It is especially hard for me now after the house was so violated. My security now lies in God and Jordan, and not in a building. Chase gets thrown into bed now because I barely have time to read, tuck him in and say prayers with Mariah screaming in my ear. He starts days on Friday and I almost cry when I think about how wonderful it will be. Besides having help with the kids at night, I am most of all looking forward to having an hour or so of "us time." Jordan doesn't want to switch, but he is doing it for the good of the family. Thank you hubby. I do have to stop and say thank you to God and apologize for not believing. God works in his own timing and as patient as I try to be, I don't think I will ever be able to wait fully in patience, prayer and petition as I am supposed to. Thank you God for once again being my Jehovah Jireh, My Provider.
