Friends

We thank God daily for all the the friends he has blessed us with. One such family is the Newtons. Their three girls are a constant source of entertainment and joy to Chase. Here is a picture of the girls with Chase and Mariah. Thank you hannah for taking great pictures of my kids.

First week & first bath!

Our first week home with Mariah has been a lot of fun. Chase is getting along with her remarkable well. He loves his "ya ya" and tells her constantly. Other than the fact that she is nocturnal, everything has been pretty easy going. Apparently a lot of babies take a while to adjust to being semi awake during the day and sleeping soundly at night. Mariah is pretty mellow so far, though we know that the sleeping-all-the-time routine will probably end soon. We had a weight check on friday and she was almost up to her birth weight, that was encouraging. I am enjoying every minute of her, but most of all I am enjoying being home with Jordan. The police schedule is hard for me to adjust to, so I look forward to spending this time off with him. It is going to be a little rough at first if Jordan has to go back and work midnights, I am praying for the day shift!! Thank you all for your prayers and meals!!! I love not cooking. Hope you enjoy the pics of her first week here!

Mariah Jordan Binder at 6:51 am 6 lb 7 oz and 18.6 in long.

We are now four!!!!

Well as you may have heard, Mariah is finally here. About 8:30 Tuesday morning my water broke, but I didn't know it (it wasn't the gush that I had heard). I knew that it was a possibility, so after calling the doctor and waiting for a response we were instructed to go straight to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital at about 10:30, were admitted and waited in the waiting room forever. Thank goodness that I wasn't having any contractions! They took us back at about 11:00 and said that my water was broken and that they were going to start to induce labor with pitocen. I was only 1 cm dialated. Around 8:30 that night I was still 1 cm dilated and now having contractions due to the pitocen. The problem was that her heart rate was going up and down constantly and they were starting to get concerned. Basically my options were to have a c-section or to have an epidural and go for the VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). Of course I really wanted the VBAC, but for all of you that know me, I DONT DO NEEDLES. Especially not that size!!! Finally after prodding from everyone and worring about Mariah's heart rate, I finally gave in. I know, no one probably believes that I got it, but I have the bruise to prove it. You will have to ask Jordan, but I just remember a lot of crying, pain and saying "Jordan I'm scared." After that the doctors increased the pitocen with caution as not to rupture my previous c-section scar and drop Mariah's heart rate more. After lots of hours of nothing, at 6:30 am on Wednesday morning I was 10 cm. I pushed for 10 to 15 min and she was out. While coming out, they realized the cord was wrapped around her neck and that was causing the variable heart rate. Thank you Jesus she was protected!! We left the hospital friday afternoon and came home to a sick Chase. A newborn and a sick 2 year old, ahhhhh! We are all doing okay, but tired and getting adjusted. Enjoy the pics and don't get upset if we are not returning phone calls right away!!

Baby Rabbits

I have been teaching Chase about baby animals, and of course one of them happens to be baby rabbits. However, I did not know that we had a prego mama in our backyard. Jordan found the nest under Chases' slide. They had to be only days old! Then 2 weeks later Abby and I found four baby rabbits all grown up under Chases' slide. Of course they ran away when we got close. The other day, Jordan and I found two of them while in the yard. Here are some pics of the baby hop-hops (as Chase calls them).

Still no baby!

Well we were really hoping that the full moon last night would start things moving, but unfortunately it was uneventful. Apparently God has another night for her to come! I am still having cramps constantly, which the doctor told me were a form of contractions, but you cant time them if they are constant! We have another appt on Tuesday, so I will post more then. Keep praying that God will bring her soon!!

Prego Update.

Well we had another dr appt today. Finally I have progressed some. I am 50 percent effaced and 1 cm dilated. As exciting as that is, it means that I could go into labor tonight or next month. All it really means is that I am progressing. Progress is good since we are trying for an all natural labor. I will post more as we know more. Come on Mariah, we are all waiting for you!!!!!

New to this!!!

I am starting this page mainly for the birth of our newest addition to the Binder family, Mariah Jordan Binder. Since some of our friends and family members are spread across the states (and world, Andrew), this page will help spread news and pictures more quickly. That is if I can keep it updated with a newborn and 2 year old!! Well Mariah is due to arrive August 22nd, but we are praying that God will bring her early, tonight even! For now here are some updated pictures of Chase.
